THE HEADACHES

Though most businesses already have a website, in many cases the site is a source of constant frustration.

In working with our clients, we have determined that some combination of the following issues is always present when a site is not meeting expectations.

Content of the site is not focused on the specific needs of the target market.

The Message is not clear and branding often not representative of the organization.

Navigation is not supportive of a meaningful visitor experience.

Crucial information is often hard to find.

The client has too little Control over the content. In many cases, none at all.

The site is merely a brochure, missing vital Functionality for building customer relationships.

The Webmaster does not understand the business or the needs of the target market.

The webmaster takes too long and charges too much for changes.

The site has minimal Traffic due to inadequate promotion.

The headaches can also be more specific based on the industry.
It is crucial to have an understanding of these needs before building the blueprint for the site.

For example, with associations there are specific challenges to be met:

  • Must clearly offer value to retain and gain members.
  • Often have volumes of documents that need to be easily accessible.
  • Need complex online forms for membership applications.
  • Need event and item payment systems.
  • May need information about members available online.
  • Often want an e-marketing application to promote events.
  • Want secure access to some information for members only or board only.
